Let's call the total cost C.
Let's call the cost for the discount card d
and let's call the number of daily bus passes to be n
then C = d + 1.50n
C is revealed to be 29.50 and n is 15.
29.50 = d + 1.50(15)
29.50 = d + 22.50
29.50 - 22.50 = $7.00 = d
So the discount pass was $7.
