7k - 8 + 2k + 24 = 52
7k + 2k +24 - 8 = 52
9k + 16 = 52
9k = 52 - 16
9k = 36
k = 36/9
k = 4

= 28 - 8 + 2 * 16
= 20 + 32
= 52
