multiply 2a+2 and a^2-1 times both sides. 4%282a%2B2%29=-%28a%5E2-1%29
factor. 8%28a%2B1%29=-%28a%2B1%29%28a-1%29
divide a+1 into both sides. 8=-(a-1)
8=-a+1
-a=7
a=-7
Check:
4/(49-1)+1/((2*-7)+2)=
