7x%5E2-21x-4x%2B12=0 ...group
%287x%5E2-21x%29-%284x-12%29=0...factor out 7x from first group and 4 from second group
7x%28x-3%29-4%28x-3%29=0
%287x-4%29%28x-3%29=0
now you can find solutions easier:
if %287x-4%29=0=>7x=4=>x=4%2F7
if %28x-3%29=0=>x=3
