You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The given equation is
2x + 4 = 5(x+1)
Applying Distributive property to the RHS
2x + 4 = 5x + 5
Moving the variable term to the LHS and the constant to the RHS we get
2x - 5x = 5 - 4
-3x = 1
Dividing by -3 on both sides will give us the value of x
x = -1/3 [Answer]
