SOLUTION: Simplify: (3x + 4 / x + 6) - (2x / x + 1) I worked this problem out until I got the answer (-5x + 4) / (7x - 6), but I'm not sure if it's correct or not. Thanks so much!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(3x + 4 / x + 6) - (2x / x + 1)
You need a common denomiator so you can subtract the fractions:
[(3x+4)(x+1)-2x(x+6)]/[(x+6)(x+1)
= [3x^2+7x+4-2x^2-12x]/[(x+6)(x+1)
= [x^2-5x+4]/[(x+6)(x+1)]
= [(x-4)(x-1)]/[(x+6)(x+1)]
