You can put this solution on YOUR website!

first find the roots:
%28x-5%29%28x%2B2%29=0
if %28x-5%29=0=> x=5
if %28x%2B2%29=0=> x=-2
so, roots are x=5 and x=-2
the sum of the roots is s=5%2B%28-2%29=5-2=3
the product of the roots is p=5%2A%28-2%29=-10
by what amount does the sum of the roots exceed the product of the roots
if a=amount then
s=p%2Ba
3=-10%2Ba
3%2B10=a
13=a..the amount by what the sum of the roots exceed the product of the roots
