Question 926143: How do I put 3x+4y=0 into slope intercept form?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for y.

3x%2B4y=0

3x%2B4y-3x=0-3x Subtract 3x from both sides.

4y=-3x

4y%2F4=-3x%2F4 Divide both sides by 4 to isolate y.

y=%28-3%2F4%29x

and there you go. It is now in slope intercept form y=mx%2Bb. In this case, m+=+-3%2F4 (slope) and b+=+0 (y-intercept)

So again, the final answer is y=%28-3%2F4%29x and you can write it as y=%28-3%2F4%29x%2B0 but I prefer y=%28-3%2F4%29x better.
