You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The zeros appear to be -3, and 1, and vertex (-1,-4).

Using a factored form, y=a%28x%2B3%29%28x-1%29 and you can use the vertex to find a. Solving symbolically for a gives a=y%2F%28%28x%2B3%29%28x-1%29%29; substitute the values of the vertex:
a=-4%2F%28%28-1%2B3%29%28-1-1%29%29
a=-4%2F%282%28-2%29%29
a=1

The equation is y=1%28x%2B3%29%28x-1%29; so although you SAY you want standard form, you showed the general form. If you want general form, then just perform the multiplication. highlight%28y=x%5E2%2B2x-3%29, GENERAL FORM.

Did you really want standard form, as y=a%28x-h%29%5E2%2Bk ?
