You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope will be unchanged for parallel and the "point" to include in the point-slope form equation will be (-4,-5).

One should understand how point-slope form works.

the question says find the equation for the line that is parallel to the line with the equation of (y-5)=1/2(x+1) passing through the point (-4,-5)

The equation: y+-+5+=+%281%2F2%29%28x+%2B+1%29 has a slope of 1%2F2
The equation being formed will have the same slope, 1%2F2 since the lines of both equations are parallel
Using the slope, 1%2F2, the point (- 4, - 5), and the point-slope formula: y+-+y%5B1%5D+=+m%28x+-+x%5B1%5D%29, we get:
y+-+-+5+=+%281%2F2%29%28x+-+-+4%29
y+%2B+5+=+%281%2F2%29%28x+%2B+4%29
y+%2B+5+=+%281%2F2%29x+%2B+2%29
y+=+%281%2F2%29x+%2B+2+-+5%29
