Question 872138: Hi Can any one help me with a problem
Given the equation 3y=6x-2 , determine the slope and the y-intercept of this straight line.
No idea how to do this if some one can show and explain the workings for this question. Much appreciated

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Plotted on the x-y plane, the slope of a
straight line is ( change in y ) / ( change in x )
---------------------------------------
If you put the equation into the form
+y+=+m%2Ax+%2B+b+, then +m+ = slope
and +b+ = y-intercept
------------------------------------
+3y+=+6x+-+2+
Divide both side by +3+
+y+=+2x+-+2%2F3+
------------------
This tells you slope = +6+ and
y-intercept = +-2%2F3+
-----------------------
Here's the plot:
