Answer:

6(2 – x) = 4x

Remove the parenthesis...



6 * 2 - 6 * x = 4x

==> 12 - 6x = 4x


Subtract 12 from both sides....



==> 12 - 6x - 12 = 4x - 12


==> -6x = 4x - 12

Subtract 4x from both sides....


==> -6x - 4x = 4x - 12 - 4x


==> -10 x = -12


Divide both sides by -10


==> +-10x%2F-10+=+-12%2F-10+



==> +x+=+1.2+


To check your solution, substitute the value of x = 1.2 in the givn equation..


6(2 – 1.2) = 4 * 1.2

==> 6 ( 0.8) = 4.8


==> 4.8 = 4.8
