h = 12g - 1 First add +1 to each side of the equation:
h+1= 12g -1 +1
h+1 = 12g

Next, in order to get the g alone, you must undo multiplication by 12. This means to divide both sides by 12. There are two ways this can be written:

+%28h%2B1%29%2F12+=+g

Or you can divide each term of the equation h+1 = 12g by 12:
h%2F12+%2B+1%2F12+=+%2812g%29%2F12
