5a%5E2-33a-14=0 then use quadratic formula, which is x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+
in your case a=5+b=-33+c=-14
so substitute these values into quadratic formula
x+=+%2833+%2B-+sqrt%28+1089%2B4%2A5%2A14+%29%29%2F%282%2A5%29+
x+=+%2833+%2B-+37%29%2F%2810%29+
x+=+7+ or x=-4%2F10=-2%2F5
