The associative property is when grouping of the numbers involved, does not matter
associative property of addition
(a + b) + c = a + (b + c)
and the associative property of multiplication
(a * b) * c = a * (b * c)
For example:
(3 + 4) + 5 = 7 + 5 = 12
and
(5 * 6) * 7 = 30 * 7 = 210
or
(7 * 6) * 5 = 42 * 5 = 210
