Note: I'll use the AC method to factor the trinomial.

To factor you should look for two numbers whose product is 20
and whose sum is 9.
The numbers are 4 and 5.

Rewrite the problem as followsreplacing the 9x by 4x+5x to get:
x^2+4x+5x+20
Factor and 1st two terms and the last two terms separately to get:
x(x+4)+5(x+4)
Factor out the common factor to get:
(x+4)(x+5
