Take the square root of both sides. If this were just an ordinary quadratic, you would consider both the positive and negative root, but since this bears a striking resemblance to the formula for displacement of an object accelerating at distance units per time units squared, and what was happening before the object started moving is seldom of interest, negative time values are generally excluded.
