You can put this solution on YOUR website! 3/5(x+2)=x-4
Multiply out
3/5x + 6/5 = x - 4
Collect like terms
remembering to change signs
as you cross the equal sign.
3/5x - x = -4 - 6/5
(x = 5/5x and -4 = -20/5)
-2/5x = -26/5
Cross multiply
-10x = -130
Divide both sides by -10
x = 13.
Proof:
3/5(x+2)=x-4
3/5(13 + 2) = 13 - 4
3/5(15) = 9
9 = 9 Proved
Hope this helps.

--------------
Assuming you mean
(3/5)(x+2)=x-4 and not
Multiply by 5 to eliminate fractions
3(x+2)= 5(x-4) = 5x-20
3x + 6 = 5x - 20
2x = 26
x = 13
