Question 747587: Hello, if you could please give me the step-by-step solution to the following question I'd be very grateful, thanks:
A circle has a radius of x. A trapezium has (top and bottom) sides of length x+2 and 7, the perpendicular height is πx. They have the same area. What is the value of x?
So, πx^2=(x+9)/2*πx

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Your equation is correct.
pi%2Ax%5E2=%28%28x%2B9%29%2F2%29%2Api%2Ax
Dividing both sides of the equal sign by pi%2Ax, and then multiplying both sides times 2, we get
pi%2Ax%5E2=%28%28x%2B9%29%2F2%29%2Api%2Ax --> x=%28x%2B9%29%2F2 --> 2x=x%2B9
Then subtracting x from both sides, we get
2x=x%2B9 --> highlight%28x=9%29
