3+2(x-1)=5+x
5(x-1)=5x
5+1x=5x
6x=5x
it dosent look right to me not shure what to do now , i cant work it out on my calculator

Key to solving is know order of operations. First, what can you do inside parentheses, and can you use distributive property to clear or handle parentheses?

Your FIRST step can be:
3%2B2%28x-1%29=5%2Bx TO BECOME 3%2B2x-2=5%2Bx.

Can you adjust according to commutative properties? Yes, at least a little.
On left side, combine the whole numbers:
3-2%2B2x=5%2Bx
becomes
1%2B2x=5%2Bx

You learned some axioms of real numbers or some properties of equality? Yes, you should have learned them (and still need a bit of practice?).
There are terms of x on both sides of the equation. You need to have them on one side or the other. Similar with the whole numbers or plainly shown real numbers:
1-1%2B2x-x=-1-x%2B5%2Bx
1%2Ax=4
