Solve 3x-6y=2, the first equation, for either variable, which I arbitrarily choose as y.
-6y=-3x%2B2

Solve x%2B2y=0, the second equation, for y.
2y=-x
y=%28-1%2F2%29x.

Equate both expressions for y and solve for x.
