Question 685877: Change the formula to make B the subjct
A= b(b+2BL) when A = 1024 and L = 60
I have tried rearranging it but I always seem to end with B on both sides..which I know isn't correct. I know B must be able to be made the subject as I've found B to be worth 8 by changing the formula so it can be worked via a quadratic equation. I just cannot fathom out how to make B the subject. Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I guess you have all b's small letters here:

A=+b%28b%2B2bL%29
A=+b%2Ab%281%2B2L%29
A=+b%5E2%281%2B2L%29
A%2F%281%2B2L+%29=+b%5E2..........when A+=+1024 and L+=+60
1024%2F%281%2B2%2A60+%29=+b%5E2
1024%2F121=+b%5E2
8.46=+b%5E2
b=sqrt%288.46%29
b=2.91
