: 2 1/8x - 1/5=(5^2)(2^-3)
I know that the answer is supposed to be 133/85. I have -94 18/85 by doing the following:
2 1/8x-1/5=(25)(-8)
2 1/8x-1/5=-200
2 1/8x = -1000/5 + 1/5
2 1/8X = -1001/5
(8/17)17/8x=-1001/5(8/17)
x=-8008/85

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2 1/8x - 1/5=(5^2)(2^-3)
(17/8)x - (1/5) = 25/8
Least common denominator =40
Multiply thru by 40 to get:
85x - 8 =125
85x=133
x=133/85
x=1.565
