Question 661760: My question is: Name the vertex and the parent function for the following functions:
F(x)= 2 (x-4)^2 -7
There is another question attached to this but I figured I would see how this one is done and try the other on my own.
Thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
F(x)= 2 (x-4)^2 -7

is in the form

F(x)= a(x-h)^2 -k

where (h,k) is the vertex. Since h = 4 and k = -7, the vertex is (4, -7)

The parent function is f(x) = x^2
