You can put this solution on YOUR website!

I need to see the steps to solve this equation:
2/7 - 1/7x = 3/7
Textbook says x=5 but your solver says x= -1 which is what I got also so I need to see the steps to solve this.
Thanks!

If the text book gives an answer of x = 5, then it's either you're looking at the wrong answer or you copied the equation incorrectly. If not, then the book has an incorrect answer.

2%2F7+-+%281%2F7%29x+=+3%2F7

2%2F7+-+x%2F7+=+3%2F7

Since all denominators are similar then we have:
2 - x = 3

- x = 3 - 2

highlight_green%28x+=+-+1%29

If by %281%2F7%29x, you meant 1%2F7x instead of %281%2F7%29x, the answer is still x+=+-+1
