2) sqrt%282x%29+%2B+1+=+3
If it's equation 1), then:
sqrt%282x%2B1%29+=+3 Square both sides.
2x%2B1+=+9 Now subtract 1 from both sides.
2x+=+8 Finally, divide both sides by 2.
x+=+4
If it's equation 2), then:
sqrt%282x%29%2B1+=+3 Subtract 1 from both sides.
sqrt%282x%29+=+2 Now square both sides.
2x+=+4 Finally, divide both sides by 2.
x+=+2
