Question 636487: I'm selling toasters for $15 ea and it costs $55 to make them with a $4 labor cost. How many do I need to sell to break even? I know the formula for break-even point is: Break-even = fixed costs / selling price - variable costs
this is my equation: $0 = $55 / $15 - 4x Please help me solve so I can know how many I have to sell to break-even? PLEASE?? I am stumped!! Is my answer 30, 33 (rounded from 32.5)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm selling toasters for $15 ea and it costs $55 to make them with a $4 labor cost.
How many do I need to sell to break even?
:
Let n = number of units to break even
revenue = total cost (var cost + fixed cost)
15n = 4n + 55
15n - 4n = 55
11n = 55
n = 55/11
n = 5 units sold to break even
