First lets convert this equation to the form ax^2+bx+c=0. So now the equation is 5x^2-3x-2=0. And if we factor that, we get (5x+2)(x-1)=0. So that means either 5x+2=0, or x-1=0. If x-1=0, then x=1. If 5x+2=0, then x=-0.4. So x is either 1 or -0.4.
