You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
1 a + 6 b = 1 .............1
1 a + 2 b = -3 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 1
Multiply (2) by -3
1 a 6 b = 1
-3 a -6 b = 9
Add the two equations
-2 a = 10
/ -2
a = -5
plug value of x in (1)
1 a + 6 b = 1
-5 + 6 b = 1
6 b = 1 + 5
6 b = 6
b = 1
a=-5,b=1
