Question 61618: Could someone help me factor this problem?
Factor the following polynomials.
4ux+20u+vx+5v
Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 4ux+20u+vx+5v, if it factors, has u, x, v, and some constants in it (because of the 4, 5, and 20.
So, it might factor like this: (Cu+v)(x+D) where C and D are constants. This is so you can get things in terms of ux, u, vx, and v.
In fact, the terms do factor like this: (4u+v)(x+5)
Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! You can factor (4ux + 20u + vx + 5v) by grouping as follows:
(4ux + vx) + (20u + 5v) Factor an x from the first group and factor 5 from the second group.
x(4u + v) + 5(4u + v) Factor out the common (4u + v)
(4u + v)(x+ 5)...and you're done!
