You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve by elimination
E1: 4x + 5y = -16
E2: 5x - 6y = -20
Multiply E1 by 6 and E2 by 5. Add the two equations together and the y's are eliminated. Solve for x.
E1: 6(4x+5y)=6(-16)--> 24x+30y=-96
E2: 5(5x-6y)=5(-20)--> 25x-30y=-100
:
24x+30y=-96
25x-30y=-100
_____________
49x+0=-196
49x=-196
49x%2F49=-196%2F49
x=-4
Substitute -4 in for x in either equation and solve for y:
5(-4)-6y=-20
-20-6y=-20
20-20-6y=20-20
-6y=0
-6y/-6=0/-6
y=0
The solution is: (-4,0)
Happy Calculating!!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x+5y=-16
5x-6y=-20
Method of elimination:
First of all;
multiply the first equation with 6 and multply the Second equation by 5

==> 6*(4x+5y)=6*-16 and 5*(5x-6y)=5*-20
==> 6*4x+6*5y=-96 and 5*5x-5*6y=-100

==>24x+30y=-96 and 25x-30y=-16
Now add these two equations
then we have, ( 24x+25x) + (30y + -30y )= -96 + 100
49x=-196
Divide on both sides by 49.
then we have,
x=-4
