You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi Sher,
When x number of units are sold, the price of each unit (in dollars) is given by p = -x/2 + 75. I need to find the unit price when the following quantities are sold: 2, 7
Substitute 2 in for x and you get:
p+=+-x%2F2+%2B+75
p=-%282%29%2F2%2B75
p=-1%2B75
p=$74.00
:
Substitute 7 in for x and you get:
p+=+-x%2F2+%2B+75
p=-%287%29%2F2%2B75 If you don't like adding fractions, obliterate them by multiplying everything by the LCD, 2.
2%2Ap=%282%2F2%29%2A%28-7%29%2B2%2875%29
2p=-7%2B150
2p=143
2p%2F2=143%2F2
p=143%2F2
p=$71.50
Happy Calculating, Sher!!!
