You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-2(y-6)=3(7-y)-5
-2(y)-2(-6)=3(7)+3(-y)-5
-2y+12=21-3y-5
-2y+12=-3y+(21-5)
-2y+12=-3y+16
3y-2y+12=3y-3y+16
(3-2)y+12=16
y+12=16
y+12-12=16-12
y=4
To check simply plug your answer in for y in the original equation:
-2(4-6)=3(7-4)-5
-2(-2)=3(3)-5
4=9-5
4=4 Hurrah!!! We're right!
y=4 is the answer!
