You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-5x-(9x+4)-3 Can be thought of as:
-5x-1(9x+4)-3
-5x-9x-4-3 Distribute the -1 and remove the parenthesis
(-5-9)x+(-4-3) Combine your like terms
-14x-7 Your teacher was right.
