multiply (1)by -3
Multiply (2) by 1
-6 x -3 y = -15
-2 x 3 y = -10
Add the two equations
-8 x = -25
/ -8
x = 3.13 OR 3 1/8
plug value of x in (1)
2 x + 1 y = 5
6.25 + 1 y = 5
1 y = 5 -6.25
1 y = -1.25
y = -1.25 OR -1 1/4
