Question 457993: A father is 3 times as old as his son. In 14 years time, he will be twice as old as his son. How old is the father now?
I've tried:
father=f son=s
f=3s
f+14 = 2(s+14)
3s+14 = 2s+28
3s-2s = 28-14
s=14
f=14 x 3
f= 42
my answer was : father is 42 years old.
But is this right or did I do something wrong? Thanks Answer by robertb(5830) (Show Source):
