You can put this solution on YOUR website!
n%2Bn%2F3=600 Start with the given equation.

3%28n%29%2Bcross%283%29%28n%2Fcross%283%29%29=3%28600%29 Multiply EVERY term by the LCD 3 to clear out the fraction.

3n%2Bn=1800 Multiply and simplify. This is where you made your mistake. You forgot to multiply the first 'n' by 3.

4n=1800 Combine like terms on the left side.

n=%281800%29%2F%284%29 Divide both sides by 4 to isolate n.

n=450 Reduce.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
n + (n/3) = 600
Multiply by 3
3n + n = 1800
4n = 1800
n = 450
