Question 44797: Hello!
Can somebody help please?
The mythical town of Alphaville had a population of 10,000 people in 1930. Since then, the population has doubled every 23 years. (For example in 1953, the population equalled 20,000; in 1976 it was 40,000; in 1999, it was 80,000 and so on).
What was the population in 1980?
Thanks for your help and time.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The mythical town of Alphaville had a population of 10,000 people in 1930. Since then, the population has doubled every 23 years. (For example in 1953, the population equalled 20,000; in 1976 it was 40,000; in 1999, it was 80,000 and so on).
What was the population in 1980?
The equation for this is
population = 10000*2^[(x-1930)/23]
where x is the year you are interested in.
When x=1980 the population is 45125
