Question 44043: graph the inequality y is greater than or equal to 3x
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! To graph
y ≥ 3x
we plot a solid point at (0, 0), since the y-intercept is 0.
From there we go up 3 and over 1, since the slope is 3, and plot another point...then connect them with a solid line...
Now we have to shade one side or the other...let's test the point (1, 0), that is if x = 1 and y = 0, does it make the inequality true?
Since 0 is not ≥ 3, we shade the half-plane on the other side of the line from (1, 0) and we're done...
