Question 425339: How do I find the x-intercepts of the parabola with equation y+4=2(x+8)^2?
I'm not sure what x-intercepts mean when talking about parabolas. Do they represent where the object began and ended?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! x int are also known as the zero's, where y=0.
y+4=2(x+8)^2
y=2x^2+32x+128-4
y=2x^2+32x+124
Use quadratic equation to solve.
a=2, b=32, c=124
(-6.6,0), (-9.4,0)
