If c represents the number of chaparons and s represents the number of students, what equation represents the given information? When answering this question, students are sometimes confused over which two equations, 8c=s or 8s=c, to use.
The correct answer is 8c=s.
But I don't know why, and my book doesnt tell me why that I can see.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! your answer would be 8c=s because
8 times the number of chaperons would give you the number of students so lets say that there are 6 chaperons.
8*6=48 that means that there would be 48 students and 6 chaperons. does that make sense if not, email me. trdl@msn.com. i would be glad to help some more.
