cross%282%29%28a%2Fcross%282%29%29-2%2814%29=2%28-27%29 Multiply EVERY term by the LCD 2 to clear any fractions.


a-28=-54 Multiply.


a=-54%2B28 Add 28 to both sides.


a=-26 Combine like terms on the right side.

add 14
a/2 +14-14=-27+14
a/2 = -13
multiply by 2
a/2 * 2 = -13*2
a=-26
