You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%284%2F3%29x%2B2=6 Start with the given equation.

cross%283%29%28%284%2Fcross%283%29%29x%29%2B3%282%29=3%286%29 Multiply EVERY term by the LCD 3 to clear out the fractions.

4x%2B6=18 Multiply and simplify.

4x=18-6 Subtract 6 from both sides.

4x=12 Combine like terms on the right side.

x=%2812%29%2F%284%29 Divide both sides by 4 to isolate x.

x=3 Reduce.

Answer:

So the solution is x=3

So we are given (4/3)x + 2 = 6.
The first thing we'll do is subtract 2 from both sides.
That will leave us with %284%2F3%29x++=+4
Now the trick is we want the coefficient of x to be 1. Then we have solved for it, right? So we need to cancel out the 4/3 with its reciprocal, 3/4.
Then the 3s and the 4s will cancel out leaving us with just 1.
So let's do that:
(3/4)(4/3)x = 4 (3/4)
For 4(3/4) [on the right side of the equation], the 4s cancel out and that leaves us with just 3.
So x+=+3
Please let me know if it still does not make sense.
