You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the number of quarters be x, then
22.75=10.50%2B.25x
12.25=.25x
Now, divide 12.25 by 25 to get
49=x
x=49
So, Mary has 49 quarters in the bank.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
She has half dollars & quarters
Let quarters be x numbers
Half dollars = $ 10.75
..
0.25x+10.75 = 22.50
-10.75
0.25x+10.75-10.75 = 22.50-10.75
0.25x=11.75
x= 11.75/0.25
x= 47 quarters
