SOLUTION: Hi, I have to write {{{f(x) = x^4}}} – {{{625}}} as a product of linear factors. Since {{{25^2 = 625}}}, I determined that {{{f(x) = (x^2 + 25)(x^2 - 25)}}} Then I was able t

Question 367415: Hi, I have to write f%28x%29+=+x%5E4625 as a product of linear factors.
Since 25%5E2+=+625, I determined that f%28x%29+=+%28x%5E2+%2B+25%29%28x%5E2+-+25%29
Then I was able to factor some more below, but I believe I should be taking the square root of the equation at some point, just not sure where.
%28x%5E2+%2B+25%29%28x+%2B+5%29%28x+-+5%29
Thanks for any help you can provide!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Yes, what you have is correct,
x%5E4-625=%28x%5E2%2B25%29%28x-5%29%28x%2B5%29

.
No need to take a square root.
