Question 35901: How do I do this?
The slope of a line is -2. Through which pairs of points could the line pass?
1.(0,3)and(-2,7)
2.(0,-1)and(2,-5)
3.(0,0)and(3,6)
4.(2,-3)and(-1,3)
answers are: A.)1 and 2 only
B.)1,2,and 3 only
c.)1,2,and 4 only
D.)3 only

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Slope of -2 => equation of the line is: y = -2x + k
For (0,3)and(-2,7): Using (0,3), k = 3; (-2,7) is satisfied for this k;
For (0,-1)and(2,-5): Using (0,-1), k = -1; (2,-5) is satisfied for this k;
For (0,0)and(3,6): Using (0,0), k = 0; (3,6) is NOT satisfied for this k;
For (2,-3)and(-1,3): Using (2,-3), k = 1; (-1,3) is satisfied for this k.
The answer would be C
