SOLUTION: I need an equation for this word problem in algebra.....65 miles per hour for a number of hours.. please give me an equation for this 8th grade algebra problem.

To get the number of miles traveled, we multiply the speed in miles
per hour times the number of hours.

As a specific example, to get the idea: 

to find the number of miles traveled in 3 hours
you would multiply the speed 65 by 3 hours and get 195 miles.

So in general:

to find the number of miles, m, traveled in h hours
you would multiply the speed 65 by h hours and get the m miles.

So the equation is

miles = speed times hours

or

m = 65h

where m is the number of miles and h is the number of hours.
