To get the number of miles traveled, we multiply the speed in miles
per hour times the number of hours.
As a specific example, to get the idea:
to find the number of miles traveled in 3 hours
you would multiply the speed 65 by 3 hours and get 195 miles.
So in general:
to find the number of miles, m, traveled in h hours
you would multiply the speed 65 by h hours and get the m miles.
So the equation is
miles = speed times hours
or
m = 65h
where m is the number of miles and h is the number of hours.
