3%28x%2B3%29=6x-15 Start with the given equation.


3x%2B9=6x-15 Distribute.


3x=6x-15-9 Subtract 9 from both sides.


3x-6x=-15-9 Subtract 6x from both sides.


-3x=-15-9 Combine like terms on the left side.


-3x=-24 Combine like terms on the right side.


x=%28-24%29%2F%28-3%29 Divide both sides by -3 to isolate x.


x=8 Reduce.
