You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-%28x-4%2F3%29+=+2%2F5-%284x%2B1%2F10%29 Start with the given equation.

x-x%2B4%2F3+=+2%2F5-4x-1%2F10 Distribute.

30%28x-x%2B4%2Fcross%283%29%29=30%282%2Fcross%285%29-4x-1%2Fcross%2810%29%29 Multiply both sides by the LCD 30 to clear any fractions.

30x-30x%2B40=12-120x-3 Distribute and multiply.

0x%2B40=12-120x-3 Combine like terms on the left side.

0x%2B40=-120x%2B9 Combine like terms on the right side.

0x=-120x%2B9-40 Subtract 40 from both sides.

0x%2B120x=9-40 Add 120x to both sides.

120x=9-40 Combine like terms on the left side.

120x=-31 Combine like terms on the right side.

x=%28-31%29%2F%28120%29 Divide both sides by 120 to isolate x.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:

So the solution is x=-31%2F120
