2x-3x-12=-5 Distribute.


-x-12=-5 Combine like terms on the left side.


-x=-5%2B12 Add 12 to both sides.


-x=7 Combine like terms on the right side.


x=%287%29%2F%28-1%29 Divide both sides by -1 to isolate x.


x=-7 Reduce.
